Looking for an answer. I'm on my 3rd 4Runner Limited. First one was 2004, then 2013 and in May I purchased a 2019 Limited. First two were very good at getting into traffic (getting up to speed when merging) and getting up mountains roads. My new one VERY Disappointing. It can't seem to get out of it's own way.

Does anyone have any idea what has changed? This is very disappointing.

The '13 and '19 have the exact same transmission and engine. Besides an issue with the vehicle itself, they should be identical.

Sprint booster, best money spent. Instant throttle response, hit up Jason B in the other forum and avoid the fake Ebay copycats

Different throttle programming. Push the pedal, it will go.

Don’t get suckered into wasting your money on a Pedal Comander / Sprint Booster. The only thing it does it amplify the pedal position so the engine thinks your requesting more throttle than you are. It’s function is the same thing as pressing the pedal faster/harder and it makes no difference in wide open throttle.

Any advantages to the SB vs. Pedal Commander?

Run a couple tanks of Exxon high test through it and check back. The EFI has a “learning” feature. And will only get better as you drive it...

Did you test drive it before buying? You seem surprised just curious. Yeah it's not a race car for sure I just lay into it when I wanna get up and go.

I had a 2003 V8 previously. My 2019 is faster, but you need to mash the throttle to get it going fast.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I noticed a big increase in power just by replacing my muffler with a Borla. The stock muffler is very restrictive. It has a nice sound too, no drone and sounds great at WOT. I know it sucks to make mods like this with a brand new vehicle but we change tires, wheels, add this and that so it's just something to make a good truck even better. No you didn’t. Your butt dyno is broken, noise does not equal power.

You traded in a 13 LE for a 19 LE? Same specs? Anything else change (did you move), etc?

Sorry you're wrong. I know exactly how the truck accelerated from a standing stop to highway speeds as well as how much pedal was necessary. My butt dyno is fine, thank you.

I disagree. I have a PC and have messed with it quite a bit, turning it on and off. It seems to change the shift points a bit as well. The throttle response is terrible in these vehicles and that seems to be why they are perceived as being slow.

With that being said, the HP or torque will obviously not be changed. The PC does exactly what it says it will do. The factory throttle mapping is terrible, you have to put the pedal to the floor to make the truck go, its stupid. This tool allows you to fine tune it a bit to your liking. I'd say its a good investment if you feel your truck doesn't have much pep.

When you push the gas harder, it changes the shift points as well. I don't think it's possible for the PC to control that. If I'm not mistaken, all it does is change the throttle output.

I never have to give mine more than half throttle. It’s fast and responsive. Very efficient I need to do a gas mileage calibration with the smaller 20 inch wheels....
