Hi. I'm a new 4Runner owner, 2019 SR5 Premium. I like the "Toyota Running Boards Black (Trail Edition), part no. PT938-89100. I've received conflicting reports, 2 from parts/service at 2 different dealers, of whether this running board model (PT938-89100) actually fits an SR5 Premium. Any SR5 Premium owners that have these running boards on truck?
    Thanks,
    Pete

Thank you for your response. I was a bit perplexed after being told by 2 different dealers (parts dept.) that these particular running boards did not fit the SR5. Thought I'd run this by the real experts...!

I installed them on my 2017 SR5 Premium and the driver’s side rubbed (barely) the trim by the front splash guard. Passenger side was very close but didn’t touch. I read many mixed reviews before purchasing. I was able to somewhat adjust the brackets but was overall unhappy with the fit. Based on some reviews I read, when I noticed the driver’s side was going to rub by holding in place, I called the dealer I ordered from and confirmed that they’d guarantee fit. They said to return the set of it wasn’t a perfect fit. That’s what I did. There must be some variation from vehicle to vehicle but I think it’s a close fit at the least. Good luck.

The brackets (which attach the running boards to the vehicle) can be adjusted to eliminate any contact/rubbing with the splash guards. I have plenty of space between both running boards and the front splash guards.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. As long as they fit and it's mostly just a matter of adjusting the mounting brackets to get the fit right, that's fine. I've just been reluctant to by them, given the number of stories I've heard questioning the fit of an OEM part...

I believe many members have been able to squeeze enough adjustment out of the boards. I wasn’t satisfied. There are a lot of options out there. Even Toyota boards or steps without the questions. If you really need these, I bet you can make it work. I’d be sure to understand the return policy before installing.
