I agree . The 3 lenses should be extended forward and maybe better LED chips .

I really like the look of these.
I did not get one of the sample batches. I could tell by the picture that they have bad spread.
Did we find out if the are indeed DOT certified?
Also, does Morimoto have a answer to all the return? This cannot help their brand!
    Thanks.

They claim yes on DOT approved but there is no way, not unless DOT believed a computer model rendering.
Xenon is kind enough to return them and waive the shipping and restocking fees but made us eat shipping back.
When I talked to them today they said the new production will have a fix and they waived the cost because they expected feedback with the 1st 50 sets. That pissed me off that I spent hours between install, alignment, test driving etc to find we were Ginnie pigs and cost me time and money to do so. Even the one guy who got them free yanked them out.
I'll probably buy them when they are fixed but I absolutely will wait until others test the next batch

I just had a bad thought. The guys/gals keeping the 1st 50 beta test lights (sold as new) may buy a new set once fixed and sell theirs on CL or on the forums and then those people will will be stuck with this mess. Not many will ever see or hear about this 2 or three years from now

How much did Lightwekz quote you for this? Also, did your quote include complete new lights or do they want you to send them yours to modify?

    Wow, that's terrible.

I couldn't imagine having to yank these things out every time a bulb went out......and pay another $1,300

That is quite funny that they told you the new version would have a "fix". XD posted on another forum: "Guys - sorry for any confusion here - but for the reasons we explained earlier, there are currently no intentions (that we are aware of) to release any "updated" version of the lights with a different light output. The launch inventory represents the finalized product, and as soon as more inventory arrives, they will all share the exact same beam pattern. Those lights are already in full production & will be shipped to us in the next couple weeks. It would take many months to completely overhaul the optics used inside the headlights between the engineering & tooling. While some customers have voiced complaints about the foreground light, it's only about 10% of the current user base, not nearly enough to warrant an overhaul like that."

So they aren't telling the truth somewhere. Signs of a shady company no doubt! (this was posted today)

FWIW...XD, Retrofit Resource, and Morimoto are all the same company. Several on the other forum have tied them all together, Retrofit I believe purchased XD a year or so ago.

Apparently they are good at lying or they simply do not know. Guys name was Mike at Xenon and he told me on the phone.
Im disappointed now was hoping for an upgrade.
Some cheap company is in production now for led headlights. I'll have to search for them later tonight

You can either send yours in or buy a new set. New set is around $230ish on Rock Auto. I'm ok with that price considering what I paid for OEM lights 20yrs ago. I had them quote me on a set of really custom lights just to gauge their price point. It was the same price as the XBs. I'll be doing a simple custom set so hopefully nowhere near that $1200 price. Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet.

Here's a breakdown on some of their services.

I see a class action lawsuit coming after a few accidents. Not even sure if they are DOT certified & I saw the pictures. You cannot see shit peripherally. Bad design & now they cover their tails & run.
"Retooling wasn't necessary to save lives..."
I wish I had bought a pair just to yell.
Unsafe lights are a huge contributor to unnecessary traffic accidents!
I hope they of a DOT officer reads this & sends them a cease and desist order for unsafe & illegal (on road) light sales.
Now what fogs do I buy? Lol... seriously.

If you can wait till mine come in, I'll be selling my Morimoto fogs shortly after. The fogs truly are good fog lights that do not bother oncoming drivers. I'm waiting till Labor Day sales and getting the Pro leds. I like the blacked out look, just not with chrome lights on a white SUV

    I do appreciate the offer.
I was under the assumption that the XB fogs were black?
If you are going with the Toyota LED pods they are like 120 watts.
The rigid lights in the Tundra will not fit our round hole.
Unless you know something I don't...?
    Thanks.

The XB fogs are blacked out. I like blacked out, just not with chrome headlights on a white truck. The OEM led Tundra will fit with a slight mod. The 4runner oem / led are direct fit for runners

How do I get the Tundra Pro's Rigids to fit?
    Do you have a link?
I may take you up on your fogs...
    Thanks!

The 2019 Tundra Pro had LED headlights and square Rigid fogs.
It really made our T4R look old!
    What not the 4runner? :notsure:

I'll sell you my Toyota fogs, new in box. I'm going a different route.

On the Toyota fogs there are two versions. One made in Japan and the other made in China. The Japan version costs a bit more, but are suppose to be far better.

Man reading all the posts on these lights. Now I know why I don’t rush into doing certain mods. My oem lights are fine for now. Better then pulling my front bumper off and going thru all that nonsense over Led lights. I’ll use that $1300 for some other mod and wait till they get these figured out. I would not want to get in a accident at night and have these in. Could be a big insurance issue.

I have purchased these (on black Friday for under $1000) and installed them. These are very well made replacements.
They were relatively easy to install, I upgraded my fogs at the same time while the bumper cover was off.
I do not have any issues with peripheral lighting.
I am very happy with this upgrade, much brighter light, much better aesthetics.
If you don't mind the price this is a great upgrade

I was wondering if anyone here that installed these lights used the lateral adjustment? The stock have vertical adjustments but these have a lateral adjustment as well. Also from what I have researched on these they are dot approved.
