I wonder if the drive reset sequence needs to take place and is why it went down to one code after 7 hours. When unplugging the battery or making changes the computer is thrown off and needs to rebuild the data. This happened in my jeep Cherokee after replacing the 4 o2 sensors. Had to reset the computer, then perform the drive sequence.

I read somewhere pulling the fuse for the EFI instead of disconnecting the battery makes the learning process quicker. How it could possibly make a difference I have no idea. I will try and find the article I saw it in. I guess you wouldn't lose your clock/radio pre sets if you just pull the fuse instead of unhooking the battery so that's a plus.

I don't doubt you read that somewhere. I just doesn't make any sense.

    Any updates?
We did our install this morning and have had no issues. I thought about this thread the whole time.
I did disconnect the battery. Write-up in "...5th gen 4runner today".
Best of luck! How were the games?

The games are awesome. Yeah I don’t know if that caused my issue. I checked when I got here and it’s showing the code. I brain farted on the battery, I guess I’ll take it in for my schedule oil change this week and have the dealer look at it.

Even if you forgot that, I don't see the problem.
I am very intrigued with this and will keep up.
    Sorry you are having trouble!

Ok so today I was getting ready to call to make my appointment with the dealership. I decided to use my Carista to scan it one last time. To my astonishment the P0102 code was gone. I ran it again after making a hour stop and it still showed 0 faults.
I was beginning to agree it was electrical even after spending extreme care separating wires as it would throw the code with just the ignition run position. I tested the harness with my meter and got the proper readings from each pin which further confused the situation. Bottom line I have no idea what was causing the code just that it’s cleared now.

I love it. I definitely notice the increase in power in the mid range.

We also noticed the mid range power help.
I really like the sound it lets the engine make also!
